These are high quality aftermarket pumps manufactured in Europe. They are very well engineered and are excellent value.
There are two types of lift pump now available for the Volvo Penta 2001. You can choose from either the earlier (unsealed) or the Later (sealed) versions. Note that the inlet/outlet positions are different, and that the later sealed version has the inlet/outlet positions on opposite sides of the cover. Both versions are supplied with a pump to block sealing 'O' ring and a set of banjo bolt fuel washers.

Fuel lift pump for Volvo Penta MD5b
Unbelievable! I ordered this on Sunday and received it the following Wednesday--in 3 days!--all the way from Sheffield, GB!!! Yes, I paid for express shipping, but even with that expense included this pump was delivered at a fraction of the cost of pumps available in the US (and those pumps require the rigid fuel lines to be replaced and re-routed...). Parts4Engines is my new go-to merchant for parts for my MD5b; they outshine even Amazon--by a long shot!!!

Perfect replacement for my Volvo Penta 2002 (Earlier type - unsealed)
The earlier, unsealed model was a perfect drop-in replacement for the original fuel pump in my Volvo Penta 2002.
The ports are perfectly aligned with the existing rigid fuel lines.
I recommend loosening the rigid fuel line that runs between the pump outlet and the fuel filter; this helps swing it slightly out of the way while installing the new pump.
The pump handle is a bit smaller than the original pump, but it did not affect my ability to quickly prime the pump and vent the system.
Don't forget to fully vent the fuel system after installation -- both at the filter and the injectors.
This replacement pump was less expensive than a rebuild kit for my original pump.
Parts4Engines shipped this out very quickly via DHL and it arrived in the United States two days later.
